LEDDER
A downloadable LED
A fast-paced 2-player game where you climb a mixed color ladder by pressing the corresponding button faster than your opponent.
Context:
This prototype was crafted as part of our Playful Media class at Lusófona University. Our aim is to develop an engaging and playful game incorporating a variety of components, including physical buttons, sensors, displays, LED strips, Arduinos, and more.
Specs:
In our game setup, we employed nine vertically positioned LED strips, each consisting of 19 lamps, resulting in a total of 171 LEDs. The system is controlled by an Arduino Nano, complemented by two controllers equipped with four colored buttons each (yellow, blue, green, and red).
Info and How to Play:
A magenta line divides the board between Player 1 (on the left side) and Player 2 (on the right side). The colors and path change randomly, with neighboring colors never repeating.
- Each player begins at the white LED positioned at the bottom of the field.
- To ascend, players must press the button corresponding to the next color.
- If a wrong button is pressed, the player will regress to the previous color until they return to the starting position.
The first player to reach the top of the ladder emerges as the winner.
